Head from a votive statue
16.5.72.122
Information
A small head of a young boy from a votive statuette of the temple boy type. The face has a distinct smile, the eyes are wide and well shaped with low arching eye brows and a well defined and perhaps pointed nose. There are traces of red colour on the eyes, ears and one of the cheeks. The hair at the crown of the head has a central parting that runs across the back of the head. There is a thick line across athe forehead that may have been a now very faded wreath of leaves. There is a very deep crack running all around the face and separating it from the back of the head. The two parts were glued together.
