Heh Amulet

Silver (electrum) wire pendant, shaped to resemble the heh hieroglyph that denoted eternity: 'millions-of-years'. Once worn as an amulet to bestow eternal protection on its owner. The outer wire is intact, central loop and arms to sides present but central part representing the body of a deity is missing. From a robbed burial excavated by David Randall-MacIver and Arthur Mace in 1900 at Cemetery D at Abydos (Tomb D81).
