Hemidactylus platycephalus Peters, 1854

Large gecko with stout, flat head and body, stout cylindrical tail is flattened below. Back is pale to grey brown, plain or with 4-5 faint, dark chevrons and up to 10 vague bars on the tail. Belly uniform cream or pale yellow. Length up to 19 cm.
