High Official's Hat

A Bhutanese high official's hat. The cap is made from red silk brocade and has a wide upturned brim covered in black silk with fine silk embroidery of foliage designs. The cap has a coral bead and copper gilt vajra or dorje finial. There are blue silk streamers attached to the brim that would fall on the wearer's back and additionally the hat has a strap at either side which would be tied under the chin.
