Hilary and Jackie

Hilary and Jackie, 1998 Based on the true story of celebrated concert cellist Jacqueline du Pre, this biographical film focusses on the intense sibling rivalry between Jackie and her older musician sister, Hilary. With a screenplay written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the film is told first from Hilary’s point of view and then Jackie’s. Many scenes were filmed in Liverpool, including; St Georges Hall, Wallasey Town Hall, Walker Art Gallery and Philharmonic Hall.
