Information
Titanic wreck items salvaged from the debris field
These items were recovered from the field of debris around Titanic on the seabed. They were given to the Liverpool and London Steamship Protection and Indemnity Association. The Association had settled claims for compensation for loss of property by some of Titanic’s passengers. The Association had been set up by Thomas Ismay in 1881 and was still based in Liverpool until recently.
These personal items are an evocative reminder of the human cost of the disaster.
