Edwin Moore was a son of the more famous artist William Moore of York; he occasionally exhibited at the RA. The Palace of Holyrood in Edinburgh is the official residence of the Queen when in Scotland. The palace as it stands today was built between 1671 and 1678 but there has been a royal residence on the site since the 14th century.
