Horn Vessel Spout

Decorative spoon from the tip/mouth of a horn vessel. The spoon has a decorative stem in the form of the goddess Hathor. This may have some connection with the use of horn vessels in childbirth and nurturing motifs. The nose is slightly worn and there are signs of repair marks. Broken into four pieces and mended together. From grave 509. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, previously repaired, discolouration, brown mottled stains on back.
