Covered brass coffee pot. Tall pear-shaped ewer moulded into shape with a repousse technique. Although made of brass, it is covered with a rose-coloured gilt, possibly rose gold. The body is decorated with elongated, pear-shaped lozenges each filled with three abstract flowers connected by a central line. The neck and spout are decorated with an engraved scrolling foliage design. The lid is a smooth dome, also engraved and accented with pierced-work and finished with a closed lotus finial. The handle, which is held in place by copper studs, is not decorated but is finished with another closed lotus bud. The base is covered in bands of decorations, the outer most decorated with simple lines, and the largest inner ring is filled with open lotus flowers.
