Household Objects; Teapot

Large barrel-shaped brass teapot. The body of the teapot is engraved with floral motifs seperated by bands filled with lines and stylised waves, and seems to be covered in a wax finish which has come off towards the bottom. The large high spout is engraved with scrolling folliage at the top and diagonal lines at the bottom. This lid is tiered and also decorated with scrolling foliage and finished with a closed lotus bud finial. The elaborate S-shape handle is made of 3 stylised interlocking ducks (originally recorded as dragons).
