Information

Fragmentary and incomplete remains of human skeleton, possibly from more than one individual. No notes about the tombs findings are included in the museum's archive of the excavation. The publication of the tombs of Skales from the the 2008 and 2011 excavations (Vassos Karageorgis and Efstathios Raptou) concludes that there are often more than one burials in the tombs, often up to 7 individuals, male and female and when subadults were included were often accompanied by an adult. Human remains were found in various areas of the chamber tomb and often within large amphoras and some had traces of fire from the cremation. Many of the tombs had been disturbed even during the antiquity.
