Indenture of Apprenticeship of Mary Millinger to Stuart Matthews as flag maker for three years. Includes certificates of satisfactory service and discharge 1901-04. Female port service employee. S. Matthews & Son (Cotton Waste Dealers and Bunting Manufacturers) were established in the late 19th century and, by 1910, were based at 2 Wapping, Liverpool. There is no trace of this firm after 1930. Mary Millinger of 25 Strand Street, Liverpool, was apprenticed in 1901 to Stuart Matthews as a flagmaker for 3 years, with her wages rising from 2/6d. to 9s. per week over that period.
