Information
One of seven strips of papyrus, painted with blue ground, lined yellow, hieroglyphs outlined in red. Part of the decoration of a mummy. Inscribed for Mery, a sailor of the barque of Amun. Good technique.
CONDITION NOTE (1998): Unsuitable mounts, incomplete, adhered to card, areas of loss, dirty; salts on two sections.
Gatty Slip (1873): 6 strips of papyrus, painted with hieroglyphics. These pieces evidently are all parts of the same strip. Fragments of a cartonage, wrongly pieced. It is a prayer to Mut [crossed out] Nut for Meri one of the navigators of the bark of Amen. Nearly 2 in. wide.
