Information

This watercolour painting depicts a set design for the play 'Queen Victoria'. The scene depicts two male figures standing within a room. In the centre of the back wall is a tall wooden door with an arched window above it. On either side are alcoves which feature bookshelves and a bust statue at the top. The floor is wooden in the centre left of the midground is a round wooden table with a green table top and a red chair. On top of the table is a small green lamp which illuminates the table and casts a shadow around it. Both figures are wearing a black suit with a white shirt below. the figure on the left appears to be giving somethign to the figure on his right, who is bowing slightly to him. Hanging from the cieling and tops of the walls are large brown curtain drapes.
