Information

This painting was transferred in 1918 from the LIbraries and Reading Rooms Sub Committee (of Liverpool?) to the Arts and Exhibitions Sub Committee, at the recommendation of the Chief Librarian who considered this framed watercolour painting more suitable for the Art Gallery. The Libraries and Reading Roms Sub Committee had purchased a large number of sketches (of Liverpool docks and shipping, in around 3 volumes) by W. Woods from his sister Miss Woods, 28 St. Domingo Grove, for its Local Collection. Refer to the notes and the docket card in the file for more information.
