An Irish Garden

Maud Naftel (1856 - 1890) was the daughter of Isabel Oakley (c. 1832 - 1912) and Paul Naftel (1817 - 1891), both watercolour painters. She trained at the Slade School in London and under Carolus-Duran (1837 - 1917) in Paris. She was an Associate of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour, and was known for painting landscapes and flowers.
