Isis Knot (Tit) Amulet

Blue glazed faience amulet in the shape of the Isis knot (tit) hieroglyph. Loops at the top and bottom in paler coloured faience. Glued to card by Flaxman Spurrell with other amulets and beads excavated by Flinders Petrie at Tell el Amarna in 1892 to illustrate jewellery types. Annotated in red "TELL EL AMARNA. D.XVIII. Dug up by Petrie. F.C.J.S'.
