Ithyphallic Amulet

Amulet representing a squatting man and oversized phallus extended in front of him. Arms held forward to support phallus. Pierced beneath the man's chin for suspension. The identity of the figure is uncertain but it is thought this type of ithyphallic amulet is connected with festivals celebrating a divine birth. Ceramic with black glaze. Surface dirt and chipped in places.
