Coarse red pottery jar with everted rim, pointed base and a red wash. Marked D in ink, indicating this was excavated in cemetery D at Abydos. One of the previous owners, Amy Urlin, assisted W. M. F. Petrie on his excavation of the cemetery at Abydos in 1901 for the Egypt Exploration Fund. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Previously repaired, areas of loss and surface loss, adhesive on body of vessel, foam adhered to surface, surface dirt.
