Jar

Light buff, flattened spherical jar with a quatrefoil rim and a hole in the base. In 1952 recorded as being from "Tarkhan, 1st Dynasty"; however, the base is marked in black ink "Z" indicating this is from the tomb structure belonging to King Djet of the 1st Dynasty at Abydos (Petrie's "tomb Z"). Dates from a later time than the use of the tomb in the Early Dynastic Period. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Hole in base, surface dirt.
