Information

Tall jar with oblate oval body, short contracted neck, and wide mouth; and a pair of vases, of similar form with cap covers. Painted in greyish blue with four large panels, in two of which are fortress-like buildings and horsemen in the foreground, and in the others scenes in the palace garden with the Empress, ladies, and children; between them are upright bands of clematis, below is a tessellated band with medallions of foliage in white in a blue ground, and above is a band of stiff flowers. On the necks and covers and above the bases are leaf-shaped pendants with floral arabesques in white in a blue ground, and pointed leaves between them. Hatched borders.
