Pottery jar with pointed base and short neck. From Sir Francis Danson's subscription to one of the Institute of Archaeology excavations directed by John Garstang at Abydos, 1907-1909 and dated by Garstang to the Twelfth Dynasty. No trace of an excavation mark to indicate a tomb number. 

CONDITION NOTE 1998: Chipped rim, surface dirt, pitted, chipped, labels adhered to surface, worn.

Danson Catalogue 1 no. 69 "Egyptian amphora – unglazed & undecorated in any way 34 in. high - with straight vertical neck, no top rim, handles or flattened base. Found by Prof. Garstang at Abydos. 12th dynasty.”
