Jar

Cylindrical jar with flaring rim and base. Grey veined alaabster. The base is marked in ink 2500 (or perhaps 2590). Compare with W. M. F. Petrie, Stone and Metal Vases (London, 1937) no. 103. Danson Catalogue 2 no. 26 "Grey marble - 3 3/4 high 3 7/8 wide. Very slightly damaged rather heavy". CONDITION NOTE 1998:Chipped rim, very cracked, surface dirt, scratched, label adhered to surface.
