Cylindrical jar with flaring rim and base. Perfumed ointments and unguents were stored in jars like this. Bought in Luxor by John Garstang in 1907. Compare with W. M. F. Petrie, Stone and Metal Vases (London, 1937) no. 103. Danson Catalogue 2 no. 15. Brought from Luxor by Prof. John Garstang. Base marked in ink 'No 15' and some letters (?) in blue. Below the rim marked in pencil 'I to III D'. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, cracked, sections of rim missing, pitted, discoloured, label adhered to surface, surface dirt.
