Baslat (or greywacke) jar of ovoid form with flat base, tubular handles, and everted rim. Described by Petrie as a "hanging stone vase". White sticker near rim: 169. Handwritten note inside the pot: "Found during excavations at Nagada by Prof. F. Petrie 1895 about B.C. 3000. Kennard Sale Lot 8". CONDITION NOTE 1998: Previously repaired, chipped rim and around break area, pitted, adhesive on surface around join, surface dirt, old label adhered to surface. Danson Catalogue 2 no. 169.
