Squat funnel necked jar, marked 684 in black. The archaeologist John Garstang notes that a total of 82 pottery vessels were found in tomb 684 and a set were given to the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 26 June - 6 July 1922 (MacGregor Collection) Lot 1704/13: "Thirteen miscellaneous Vessels, chiefly in unglazed earthenware; from Esna, Hissayeh and other sites".
