Information

This right angled leg comes from a small jar support. The jar would have been supported in a wooden cup and projecting from its side would have been three right angled legs. There is the remains of a broken tenon on the legs shortest element while the foot of the leg is finished with a characteristic hoof. This is carefully incised with two bands of decoration. Marked in ink "Egypt" (similar in style to ceramic cup 1973.4.344 ex WHMM 125535). CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, splitting, surface dirt.
