Information
What the excavator John Garstang described as a bird-shaped form of vase. The two top corners are pinched in and there is a hole below one corner. Both corners, that once formed head and tail, are broken off. Excavation find number mark is not clear.
CONDITION NOTE (1998): Chipped, some cracking, pitted, surface loss, surface dirt.
Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 26 June - 6 July 1922 (MacGregor Collection) Lot 1718/18: "Eighteen others, including some very interesting forms; from Esna, Abydos and other sites".
