Information
Oinochoe (jug) on low, slightly concave foot, with piriform body, broad shoulder, conical neck and moulded, flaring trefoil mouth with smooth band handle set off by small, pointed projections on the rim. Besides the triple moulding at the top of the neck, and one between neck and shoulder, there is finely incised decoration: large rays on lower body, and a band of vertical striation in grooved border just below the shoulder. The fabric is fine, black bucchero just slightly heavier than the early Etruscan sottile (“thin”) fabric. Rim broken and restored.
