Large oinochoe in “heavy” bucchero pesante fabric with ornate relief and incised decoration. Moulded, low foot, ovoid body with mouldings near base and shoulder, thin neck with moulded rings, trefoil mouth, band handle set off with large rotelle. Moulded decoration: on lower body a frieze of harpies walking to right, on shoulder large tongues, palmettes on the rotelle and a warrior facing right on the handle. Incision for details on harpies, including scrolls emerging from their heads; also details on warrior, on each side of mouth, eyes with lashes, rays surrounding the palmettes and zigzags and dot rosettes on shoulder and neck. Restored from several fragments; surfaces preserve original high polish.
