Jug

M8805

Information

Oinochoe (jug). Globular body, short neck, wide, oval mouth, everted rim with two pinched projections at top. Corroded, encrusted, missing handle and part of base. Apparently the handle was originally soldered on, and probably ended in a satyr head, as M8804. This jug and M8804 are fine examples of Hellenistic bronze tableware, for which Etruria was famous.
