Kalmia

James was predominantly a flower painter, as demonstrated in this watercolour of pale pink kalmia. He was self-taught as an artist, exhibiting with the Royal Society of British Artists, the New England Art Club, the Old Watercolour Society and the Liverpool Autumn Exhibitions.
