Killough Bay, Brent Geese Flighting

WAG 10840

The watercolour embodies both in appearance and technique the contrast between the idyllic appearance of a landscape and its ecological disturbance caused by human intervention. Through the delicately applied watercolour can be viewed printed texts about nuclear pollution and planning permiosiion, and the paper itself is made from industrial waste. Manley, born in St Helens, now lives and works in Northern Ireland.
