The Lady Sprang Up Suddenly (The Liver Sketching Club)

Pelham was thought to have been taught by his father also called James Pelham. He travelled extensively throughout England and exhibited at the Royal Academy, where he was elected an associate in 1847 and full member in 1851. He is sometimes referred to as James Pelham II. His son was also called James Pelham (the Younger or III).
