Lady Standing under Ornamental Canopy with Flowers

This embroidery was made using the same technique as its pair (LL 5282) except for seed pearls being used instead of black beads to make the figures necklace.The satin is frayed around the edge and over the lady's padded features. Satin worked with silks in satin stitch, long and short, stem, running, tent stitches and a variety of detached lace and buttonhole stitches, French knotsand twisted silk pile; also with coloured metal purl and applied black beads forming a necklace on the figure. Like its pair ( LL 5282) it has a border made of metal thread and strips.
