Landing document completed by the American/US Consul, 5 Jan 1853. Ship Garrick sailing from New York to Liverpool with a cargo of wheat. Signed by Thomas Walker, Master, George Houffer, Mate of Garrick and James Pearce, Vice Consul and Thomas Cuttenden, US Consul. Also mentioned are Sandars Smith, Merchant of the Port of Liverpool who received the cargo, Deppermann & Alburtis, Merchants of New York who shipped the cargo. John Hopkins, Principal Clerk of the Bill of Entry Office, Port of Liverpool. Document is a pre-printed certificate bearing the symbol of the US Consul, used to declare that the cargo mentioned was loaded at the said port [New York], onboard the said vessel [Garrick] and delivered in this port [Liverpool].
