Letter written after the abolition of the slavery after 1833 (4 pages). The plantation manager provides monthly return of Plantation Hope and Experiment he referes to sugar, rum, molasses and cane cultivation, labourers (426 of which 74 are in hospital or invalids), livestock etc. General remarks give an account of different sailing vessels with sugar stock levels, shares in each ship, infants dying of dysentery, the value of a women who wanted to buy herself out of the plantation etc, fascinating insight into running of a plantation.
