DX/2677
Information
Letter from Mountbatten of Burma [25 June 1900 - 27 August 1979] regarding the opening of Sefton House, an annexe to the Gordon Smith Institute for Seamen, Liverpool. Addressed 'Government House, New Delhi', so presumably must date from his period in India, 1946 - 1948. Letter mounted on cardboard. Mentions the importance of seafarers and how the Annexe had provided a welcome to those who served with him afloat in the Mediterranean. Sefton House is named after Lady Helena Mary Molyneux, Countess of Sefton (1875 - 1947).
