Letter from Mountbattern of Burma regarding the Gordon Smith Institute for Seamen

Letter from Mountbatten of Burma [25 June 1900 - 27 August 1979] regarding the opening of Sefton House, an annexe to the Gordon Smith Institute for Seamen. Addressed 'Government House, New Delhi', so presumably must date from his period in India, 1946 - 1948. Letter mounted on cardboard. Mentions the importance of seafarers and how the Annexe had provided a welcome to those who served with him afloat in the Mediterranean. Sefton House is named after Lady Helena Mary Molyneux, Countess of Sefton (1875 - 1947).
