Licence from Governor of St Helena for ship Emma, Thomas Packwood master, owner Anne Wilson, registered Banff, Scotland to transport liberated Africans from St Helena to Trinidad, 26 April 1847. Contains signatures of Packwood family members who have owned the document. St Helena held Vice Admiralty Court where slave trading vessels captured by the Royal Navy could be condemned, liberated Africans then needed to be transported off the island.
