Lid

Small red ware pottery lid with flaring walls and flat base. The rim suggests its a lid but it may be a bowl. The base is marked with a large R in black paint, presumed to mean it is from Professor Peet's Cemetery ‘R’ at Abydos excavated Egypt Exploration Society. Donated to the East Anglia Egyptian Society by the Egypt Exploration Society in November 1925 "from old stock", i.e., a range of finds held in the EES office from excavations before 1925.
