Lime box

Circular, silver lime box or trimi used for storing pan or betel leaf. The whole is covered with very fine, close fretwork interspersed with open lotuses that in part retain their gilding. The lid is decorated with a central lotus fitted with turquoise, malachite and coral, this is surrounded by a band of five gilded auspicious sensory symbols including a mirror, a food offering, a scarf, and a conch shell. The circumference of the bowl is divided into lozenge-shaped medallions, which are filled with serpentine dragons finished with gilding.
