Lime box

A large round silver lime box used for storing pan or betel leaf. The lid is decorated with a large norbu gongkhil or swirling jewel which forms a finial. The repousse work, includes a set of four gilded auspicious sensory symbols, including a mirror, a food offering, a scarf, and a conch shell, surrounded by swirling foliage. There is then an outer layer of shorter lotus petals and beneath this there is a band of gilded Eight Auspicious Symbols.
