Wooden list of effects for the deceased ship's engineer Arthur Owen of the SS Zealand of the Donald Currie Line. Owen's ship was in Hamburg harbour at the outbreak of the First World War and he was interned at Ruhleben civilian prison camp near Berlin. He died of tuberculoses in 1916 and his effects were returned to his wife Sydney Owen. This is one of two labels listing his effects. The label contains the stamp and wax seal of the prison camp.
