'Liverpool Counterpoint 13'
LIV.2015.51.13
Information
This is another print which demonstrates Kwami's interest in contrasting abstract and figurative elements in the same work. The outline of a hen that is repeated four times in the print, is from the sketch Kwami made in the museum stores of a pottery water cooler in the shape of a hen from the town of Kpandu in Togo (20.5.09.15). A brass box lid decorated with miniature birds (24.5.06.36) that was given to World Museum in 1906 by the Ghanaian donor A. R. Chinery is also illustrated.
