Information

This banner was designed by a local artist for the ‘Liverpool Eight against Apartheid’ group. The group came together around 1985 to show solidarity with the Black population of South Africa during the apartheid era. Their activities included boycotting products made in South Africa, picketing organisations supporting the regime and leafleting outside shops selling South African Products. The group disbanded in 1990 when Nelson Mandela was freed from prison after 27 years.
