ISM.2011.3.1
The banner was made by the 'Liverpool 8 Against Apartheid' group. The group came together c1985 to show solidarity with the Black population of South Africa during its apartheid era. The groups activities included boycotting products made in South Africa, picketing organisations supporting the regime such as Barclays Bank and Shell and leafleting outside shops that sold South African Products such as Kwik Save and Tesco's. The group disbanded in 1990 after the freeing of Nelson Mandela.
