Many of the general adverts are for retailers stocking the latest fashions for men and women. Alongside these is an advertisement for superior hair cutting which boasts of 6 hair-cutting rooms and an immense stock of false hair. These sit alongside adverts for more everyday necessities such as fuel and carriage repairs. 

Goods are not the only thing being advertised. A variety of local activities are listed including dances, evening language classes, riding, Christmas festivities, dining, musical concerts and an upcoming poultry show.
