Food parcels provided an invaluable lifeline for Prisoners of War. It’s estimated that in Liverpool between £30,000 and £40,000 was divided between the Women's War Service Bureau, the Civic Service League, the City Battalions Comforts Fund, and the Liverpool Prisoners of War Help Committee.
