Loom Weight

Ceramic loom weight used to hold down the warp threads so the weft threads could be woven over and under them. Circular with central hole. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum no. 27446; Purchased at Sotheby's Lot 481 15 July 1924 by Sir Henry Wellcome. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Very worn, surface loss, chipped, pitted, surface dirt.
