Loom Weight

Ceramic loom weight used to hold down the warp threads so the weft threads could be woven over and under them. Described in 1924 as a "tablet of pottery pierced for suspension". Wellcome Historical Medical Museum no. 27446; Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 15 July 1924 Lot 481.
