A Love Song

Kilburne was a painter who specialised in loosely historic genre scenes, particularly of the fashionable classes of the late 18th/early 19th century. These scenes were often of romantic meetings or moments, rather sentimentalised, with titles such 'A Love Song' (as in this case), 'A Trysting Place' and 'Maiden Meditation'.
